Suryakumar Yadav Reveals The Advice By Rahul Dravid And Rohit Sharma To Improve His ODI Game Ahead Of World Cup

In the third T20I game against West Indies, the middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav delivered an enthralling performance to help India secure a seven-wicket win against the hosts. Yadav scored a remarkable 83 runs off just 44 deliveries, enabling India to comfortably chase down a target of 169 runs in the game played at Guyana.

Suryakumar Yadav’s performances in T20 Internationals have been outstanding in comparison to ODI games. As India prepares for the upcoming Asia Cup and World Cup, Suryakumar’s performance in the ODI format has been lackluster. The batsman faced a challenging period and got three consecutive dismissals without scoring a single run against Australia.

When he was asked about his role and position in the current Indian team, he admitted that his statistics and performance in ODIs did not meet the required standards.

“If I am honest with myself, I know that my ODI numbers are very bad. I have no shame in admitting that because it is more important to figure out how to better it. So, what Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid told me was that I do not play this format very often, so I need to practice more,” Yadav told the reporters after the 3rd T20I game in Guyana.

Suryakumar Yadav also revealed that the Indian head coach Rahul Dravid and Rohit Sharma are backing him to perform well in the 50-over format as well.

The batter said,””They asked me to spend some time in the crease and think about how I can be useful for the team in the last 10-15 overs. They want me to play 45-50 balls in a match, if I bat in the last 15-18 overs and they have given me the freedom of how I want to go about it.”
