The final squad of Team India for the ODI World Cup will be announced today(September 5). Meanwhile, the former Indian opener Aakash Chopra has picked one between Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma to get a place in the squad. Aakash said that, Suryakumar Yadav has the upper hand in comparison to Tilak if we see the current scenario regarding the marquee event.
Suryakumar and Tilak are both part of the Indian team participating in the ongoing Asia Cup. However, they did not get the chance to play in the first two matches against Pakistan and Nepal. Given that the squad for the ODI World Cup is limited to just 15 members, it’s probable that one of them will be excluded from the playing lineup.
While speaking on his youtube Channel, Aakash Chopra said that Suryakumar Yadav will be his final member in his squad.
The former KKR opener said,”How will the team look? Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan, KL Rahul, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami, Shardul Thakur and the last slot will go to Suryakumar Yadav.”
While giving his view on Tilak Varma, Aakash Chopra said,”I don’t think Tilak Varma is going to come because you haven’t used him at all, although he could have been a great option. It’s not only because he batted well against the West Indies recently.”
