Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Pat Cummins drops a special praise for Gujarat Titans pace attack after Hyderabad slump to their fourth loss of the season

Sunrisers Hyderabad captain Pat Cummins said that the Gujarat Titans’ fast bowlers were tough to face after SRH lost by seven wickets in the IPL 2025 match at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Sunday. Batting first, SRH managed to score 152/8 in 20 overs, with Mohammed Siraj taking 4 wickets for just 17 runs. Prasidh Krishna and Rashid Khan also picked up two wickets each. Nitish Kumar Reddy was the top scorer for Hyderabad with 31 runs, while Cummins chipped in with 22 runs off nine balls.

Cummins commented, “Our total was a bit low, but the pitch in Hyderabad can be tricky. If you lose a few early wickets, it’s tough to recover. It didn’t spin much, and there was some dew, but they batted really well. Their pace bowling was hard to handle today.

In response, Shubman Gill scored an unbeaten 61, with Washing Sundar getting 49 and Sherfane Rutherford finishing with 35 not out, leading Gujarat to a comfortable win with 20 balls remaining. Sundar, making his debut for Gujarat, felt grateful for the chance to play. He said, “I just focused on what the skipper told me: to bat as long as I could and finish the game for my team. The pitch here has been getting better for chasing scores of 160-170 in recent years. I was aware of that, and it helped me. The coach sent me in at number four after we lost a couple of early wickets, and I really enjoyed being out there.
