The Indian Premier League (IPL) team Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has acquired the Northern Superchargers and renamed it Sunrisers Leeds for the The Hundred 2026 season.
The team has also expressed their intentions by revealing the retention and direct signing lists for the next edition of both the men’s and women’s teams.
The Hundred 2026 season will be marked by an auction as the first-ever event, moving away from the draft system following the privatization of the league.
Sunrisers Leeds Men’s team of the SRH sister franchise made two direct signings
The Men’s team will have Daniel Vettori as coach, who is also the corresponding coach for the SRH team in IPL. They have acquired the T20 World Cup 2026-bound England players Harry Brook and Brydon Carse.
The England white-ball captain Harry Brook appeared in nine games during the last 2025 edition, scoring 227 runs with a remarkable average of 37.83. He is going to get around £500,000 through his new deal, as per reports. Meanwhile, pacer Brydon Carse did not participate in the entire 2025 tournament. He was out due to the workload management of the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), as Carse is a key part of the England pace battery across formats.
Talking about the direct signings by the SRH franchise, they brought in Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh, who is in excellent form in the Big Bash League (BBL 2025-26) and fellow Aussie pacer Nathan Ellis.

With the new season, Women’s team also brought in Adrian Birrell, the South African, to take on the role of Head Coach, replacing Lisa Keightley.
As far as their retentions are concerned, the Australian stars Annabel Sutherland and Phoebe Litchfield who ended last season with them, will be present along with Kate Cross, the English fast bowler. The win of the Women’s Hundred last season was greatly supported by the three of them as they played for Northern Superchargers.
In Litchfield’s case, her performance was so good that she came first in the tournament’s batting statistics with a total of 292 runs scored in her 10 innings with an average of 41.71. Besides, her partner in the team, Annabel Sutherland was also remarkable with her 206 runs scored but her average was exceptional at 51.50.
Sutherland was so good that she not only excelled with the bat but also took 16 wickets at an average of 14.43 and finished as the second-highest wicket-taker in the competition, just behind Kate Cross of England who got 15 wickets.
