‘Sunrisers Hyderabad Have Nothing’, Irfan Pathan Slams Pat Cummins And Team After Heavy Collapse Against RCB

In the game against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Sunrisers Hyderabad struggled after their top batsmen got out early. In this game, RCB beat SRH by 35 runs to get the second win of the season. In the previous match against the same team, the Sunrisers had scored the highest total ever in IPL history but their batting failed at their home ground.

They reached an impressive total of 287 runs for the loss of three wickets in 20 overs, thanks to outstanding batting performances from Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, and Heinrich Klaasen.

However, in this match in Hyderabad, the Bengaluru bowlers dismissed all three Sunrisers batsmen early in Hyderabad, and the home team couldn’t bounce back from this setback. Despite the reasonable target of 207 runs, the Sunrisers’ batsmen found it challenging. Will Jacks bowled effectively against Travis Head, giving away only 1 run. After that, the RCB bowlers took control of the match. Abhishek Sharma (31) was outsmarted by a clever variation in pace by Yash Dayal.

Debutant Swapnil Singh dismissed Aiden Markram (7) and Heinrich Klaasen (7) in a single over and weakened the hosts. The other batsmen played cautiously, but Hyderabad could only reach a total of 171/8.

Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan has said that Sunrisers Hyderabad is heavily dependent on their top-order and if it fails, they get into a huge struggle to make a comeback.

“The high-flying batting unit of Hyderabad was exposed by RCB. Their middle order has no batter who can take them to a win if the top order fails. RCB managed to dismiss Head Abhishek, Klaasen, and Markram, and the team couldn’t recover from the setbacks and lost the game.”

“SRH will find things difficult moving forward as other franchises will now plan to stop the top fours as there is no firepower after them. Royal Challengers Bengaluru have the same issues. They are also top-order heavy,” Irfan Pathan said on Star Sports.
