Steven Finn drops a massive praise for Jasprit Bumrah, Check inside what the fast bowler from England says

Former fast bowler for the England cricket team Steven Finn lauded Jasprit Bumrah for his match-winning performance against Australia in the two-Test match played in Perth. Bumrah, who also captained India in the encounter, took as many as eight wickets and played a major role in ensuring the historic win. It was a masterclass by the star India pacer who made full use of the conditions and took significant wickets along the way. Finn heaped compliments on him and went even as far to say that he is the best player in the world.

“Jaiswal scored that brilliant 161, but the player who I really enjoyed watching and whom I think is actually the best player in the world, bar none at the moment, is Jasprit Bumrah. He is just-joke, honestly. You watch him bowl and you just think I’m glad that I don’t have to strap my pads on,” Finn said on TNT Sports while reviewing India’s performance along with ex-England captain Alastair Cook.

During the analysis, Cook admitted that he was surprised by India’s dominant show against Australia in Perth, a ground that has historically been a safety net for said hosts during difficult times.

“I was surprised that India have gone there (Australia) and hammered Australia in what is normally a very hard place to go and play cricket. Perth, I know, it’s not the WACA; I know it’s the new stadium, but historically, Australia don’t lose many games there. I thought India was so brave.”

Steve Smith, Australia’s best batsman of this era, regards Jasprit Bumrah’s action and skills as the ‘perfect combination’ in terms of type.

At the lead of India without their regular captain, Rohit Sharma. Eight wickets were claimed, including five in the first innings, and earned him the title ‘Player of the Match’ to help the visitors win the opening Test. Bumrah took out Australia by 295 runs.

“Awkward all the way from the start of the run-up,” Smith said to The Sydney Morning Herald.

“He runs in different to pretty much anyone else in that then the last bit of his action is just different. I’ve faced him a reasonable amount now, and you literally just take a few balls to get the rhythm of it in a way each time you face him.” Smith was one of the victims of Bumrah in a devastating initial spell over-the-opening wicket in the first innings as the pacer blitzed through the entire Australian top-order lineup.

That approach has been generally sketchy and awkward for him, throughout the run-up,” said Smith to the Sydney Morning Herald.
