Squad Announced for India vs South Africa ODI & T20I Serie

India vs South Africa

Cricket South Africa has made it public the list of teams that are going to face India in the next white-ball series. The tour will feature three One Day Internationals (ODIs) and five T20 Internationals (T20I).

Temba Bavuma will lead the South African squad for the One Day Internationals. Meanwhile, Aiden Markram has been appointed captain for the Twenty20 format. This news was released on Friday.

The first match in the ODI series is scheduled for 30 November, with all three ODIs happening in Ranchi, Raipur and Visakhapatnam between 30 November and 6 December. The T20I matches will take place from 9 to 19 December in different Indian cities. The white ball series will occur after the two-match Test series, which will be over on 26 November.

Dewald Brevis and Maharaj back to the ODI squad

There are some intriguing alterations in the roster. The ODI team will see the reappearance of Dewald Brevis and Keshav Maharaj. Conversely, Lhuan-dre Pretorius and Donovan Ferreira have not been included in the list this time.

One more new alteration is that Rubin Hermann, a batsman from North West who made his debut in ODI against Pakistan a fortnight ago, is included in the team. His performance in the first ODI has impressed the selectors so much that they have decided to keep him in the 50-over squad.

In T20Is, fans will be more than eager to witness the quick bowler Anrich Nortje once again. His name is among the T20 squad and he will make his first appearance for South Africa since the T20 World Cup final in June 2024 against India in Barbados.

In addition to Nortje, David Miller and Kwena Maphaka are also among the T20I players to be recalled, which means the squad will be complemented by the combination of both experience and youth.

In conclusion, South Africa seems to be getting ready for the India tour with a good mix of experienced players and new ones.
