Sourav Ganguly Picks His 15-Member Squad For 2023 ODI World Cup, No Place For Chahal, Tilak Varma And Sanju Samson

The much awaited ODI World Cup is approaching day by day and the fans are high on excitement as this mega event is happening after four years. The upcoming World Cup is scheduled to take place in India from October 5 to November 19. There’s a lot of talk about team selections which has now become a part of discussion among cricket fans and former experts. The Asia Cup squad has been already announced and the BCCI will look to monitor this cup so that its players could be rectified for the upcoming tournament.

The former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has now picked the 15-member squad for the 2023 World Cup team along with the former BCCI selector MSK Prasad. Ganguly did this while having a conversation with Star Sports. Their chosen squad features well-established players such as Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah, along with Shubman Gill and KL Rahul.

While Ganguly picked Shardul Thakur as a bowling all-rounder, Prasad got R Ashwin in his kitty. Prasad kept an equal opinion for both Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal, Sourav Ganguly went with Kuldeep and excluded Chahal.

In the fast bowling department, Ganguly has picked Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami and Shardul Thakur.

The first match of the ODI World Cup will be played from October 5 where New Zealand and England will clash with each other. India will play its first match against Australia on October 8 at MA Chidambaram stadium, Chennai.
