Sourav Ganguly drops a massive advice for Rohit Sharma, Details inside

Sourav Ganguly, who used to captain the Indian cricket team, wants Rohit Sharma to step up in the next Test series against England. He needs to perform better as both the team’s captain and as a batter. Rohit didn’t do so well in the series against Australia. But winning the Champions Trophy in 2025 means he’ll probably stay India’s captain.

Ganguly said Rohit is great in One-Day International (ODI) cricket. But he also said India hasn’t been doing great in Test cricket lately. Ganguly told Rohit he needs to make some changes for the team.

I’m shocked at how he’s been playing in Test cricket for the past few years, Ganguly said. Someone with his talent should be doing way better. He needs to think hard because we have five Tests against England, and it’ll be tough, just like in Australia. The ball will move around a lot. India needs him to play well in Test matches. But he is already one of the best in ODIs. Ganguly said this at Trailblazers 3.0, by RevSportz.

Ganguly said that being a leader is super important in a series like the one against England. So, Rohit will be key if India wants to improve.

Being a captain is very important. I’ve always thought Rohit Sharma is a great captain. That’s what I see when he’s leading India. I’ve watched him captain Mumbai Indians. I captained India for tons of games, so I can see what makes a good captain.

It’s no surprise he’s made the team better in ODIs. I don’t know if he’ll keep playing Test cricket, but if he’s listening, he needs to take charge and improve things in Test matches. India isn’t doing well in Test cricket right now, and they need to work on it. They need to figure out how to play well in England because that five-Test series will be huge. Rohit needs to figure out how to get the team going, he said.
