Their win sends them to Qualifier 2 in Ahmedabad on Sunday against the Punjab Kings.
It was a tough chase for the Titans, especially with the heavy dew making it harder. Sudharsan played a key role until he got out in the 16th over. Bumrah struck with a classic yorker to dismiss Washington Sundar, who scored 48 off 24. Sudharsan’s wicket was a turning point, making it tougher for the Titans.
Watching Sudharsan bat was great; he played with style and found gaps effortlessly. The situation got tense with 36 runs needed from the last 12 balls, and with two left-handers, Rahul Tewatia and Sherfane Rutherford, at the crease. Richard Gleeson, making his debut for Mumbai, bowled the final over, needing to defend 24 runs, and he did a fantastic job despite struggling with a hamstring injury. Suryakumar Yadav took charge during that last over, showing great judgment in bringing Gleeson back to bowl despite his condition.
Earlier, Mumbai chose to bat on a pitch with less grass than in the previous match, and their batsmen exploited that.
