Shreyas Iyer gave this Shocking reason after their loss against CSK..

Kolkata Knight Riders were handed their first defeat of the season. However, KKR’s skipper, Shreyas Iyer, blamed the pitch for their first loss of the season. KKR were bamboozled by CSK’s brilliance and were restricted to 137/9, and later on, they lost the match by 7 wickets.

Speaking after the match, Shreyas Iyer said that the pitch behaved differently in both innings, which led to this performance from KKR.

In his post-match presentation, Shreyas Iyer said, “We got a phenomenal start in the powerplay, but we lost consecutive wickets. We weren’t able to assess the conditions quickly after the powerplay; scoring runs wasn’t easy. They (CSK) know the conditions pretty well; they bowled according to their plans. It wasn’t easy to go after them on the first ball. We were trying to construct the innings, but it didn’t fall in place according to the plan.”

CSK’s star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja had a phenomenal outing with the ball. The star all-rounder picked up three wickets, giving away just 18 runs in his four overs.
He picked up wickets from Sunil Narine, Venketesh Iyer, and Angkrish Raghuvanshi, which rattled KKR’s batting line-up.

Speaking about the same, Iyer said, “The wicket changed after the powerplay. We were in a comfortable place, and we thought 160–170 was a good score, but we lost momentum. We have to go back to the drawing board and learn from that. I am glad this happened at the start of the tournament. When we go back, we know our home conditions pretty well. We need to analyze the situations and make the best use of them.”
