Shreyas Iyer drops a massive bombshell after PBKS victory over RCB

Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer said he’s enjoying the mix of games in IPL 2025, from nail-biters to high-scoring matches. His team recently overcame the Royal Challengers Bengaluru with a five-wicket win at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Their bowling was spot on, which played a big part in the victory.

Though there were some tense moments, Punjab got the job done by chasing down a small target of 96 runs in the 13th over. “Variety makes things interesting. We get to see all kinds of matches here, and it’s a real challenge,” Iyer shared in the post-match chat. He mentioned that he relied a lot on instinct during the game, and it paid off as they kept taking wickets.

Iyer also pointed out how important it was to not let new batters settle in. Marco bowled really well, creating some bounce and helping the team maintain control over the game. The other bowlers chipped in as well.

Punjab’s last couple of games have been quite the rollercoaster. They scored an impressive 245 runs against the Sunrisers Hyderabad but ended up losing by eight wickets after Abhishek Sharma’s fantastic century turned the tide. In their next match against the Kolkata Knight Riders, Punjab struggled and were bowled out for just 111, but thanks to Yuzvendra Chahal’s four wickets, they managed to win by 16 runs.

On Friday, they played a rain-shortened match, finishing in just 28 overs, and still clinched the win. “Honestly, we weren’t sure how the pitch would behave. The bowlers adapted well. Arshdeep mentioned that hard lengths were tough to hit, and I didn’t see any sixes off fast bowlers,” Iyer noted. Punjab’s next match is against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Sunday, April 20, at home.
