In the 39th match of the Indian Premier League 2024, Ruturaj Gaikwad showcased his talent by scoring 108 runs against Lucknow Super Giants. Leading as the new captain of CSK, he exuded confidence and displayed versatile shot-making skills.
There’s speculation about his inclusion in the Indian squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, although it’s uncertain whether he’ll secure a spot in the final 15-member squad.
On the other hand, Shivam Dube, who plays alongside Gaikwad in CSK, is in a good position to make it into the team. He is known for his strong hitting in the middle overs, which sets him apart from other players. Dube has been the top scorer for Chennai this season and has already got three- half centuries to his name. Although he hasn’t bowled much due to team rules, he can if needed.
For the last one year, Shivam Dubey has been performing brilliantly with his bat. With his superb six hitting skills he has got the attention of selectors who are going to announce the Indian squad for T20 World Cup 2024 very soon.
Former Indian cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu had to choose between Ruturaj Gaikwad and Shivam Dube, and he picked the left-handed batter for this.
While talking to Star Sports, Navjot Singh Sidhu said,”There are a lot of opening options available in the Indian team. Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, and Virat Kohli can play as openers. There is no place in that slot. Ruturaj also bats at number 3, but even that place is full. So, Ruturaj has no chance of being a part of the squad until some injuries occur.”
“Shivam Dube will travel with the team. He has broken down the door of the selectors with his performances. A batter like him at the No. 4 or 5 spots can win you games. He is unstoppable in this IPL, and he hits the bowlers into the stands. He will surely make it to the final fifteen.”
