Shivam Dube Finally Spoke On His Comparison With The Legendary Yuvraj Singh

The star all-rounder of Chennai Super Kings Shivam has finally got a place in the Indian squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. Meanwhile, the batter has spoken on his comparison with the former Indian star Yuvraj Singh.

In the IPL 2024, Dube has been doing exceptionally well. He has scored 350 runs in nine matches with a great average of 58.33 and a striking rate of 172.41. He’s been batting in the middle order for CSK and has won some crucial matches for the team.

Dube’s impressive performance secured him a place in the 15-member squad for the Indian cricket team. They will be representing India in the T20 World Cup 2024, scheduled to be held in the United States and the West Indies.

Since his debut in 2019, he has been showing his potential, but it was his performance in the IPL 2024 that made all the difference. It impressed the selectors to include him in the World Cup squad.

Because of his aggressive style of play and being a left-handed batsman, people started comparing Dube to the Indian legend, Yuvraj Singh. However, Dube doesn’t pay attention to these comparisons.

“Comparing myself to Yuvi Paaji would be foolish,” he remarked in a recent interview with BCCI. “I have my style, and while it may bear some resemblance to his, I focus on being the best version of myself.”

“It’s about applying myself at the right time and in the right way. When the captain trusts you, you express yourself on the field, and that’s crucial,” he added.

“I don’t think about whether I’ll play or not; I focus on how I can perform to benefit the team. The rest is in the hands of a higher power,” he added.
