Shikhar Dhawan Picks Top-5 Players For The Dream World Cup XI, Two Indians And Three Foreigners Make Into The List

Veteran Indian left-handed batter Shikhar Dhawan disclosed that if he has to make a dream ODI XI for the upcoming World Cup, he would choose teammate Virat Kohli as his top player. Dhawan then picked his next four players as the ODI World Cup will commence from October 5 in India.

Shikhar Dhawan is not on the radar of the management for the upcoming event in India. However, he has played 10 matches in the tournament in which he has an average of 53.70 with three centuries to his name.

Kohli has given some remarkable performances in the ODI World Cup. Talking about the wholesome ODIs, he has the second-highest number of centuries (46) in ODIs. King Kohli has scored nearly 13,000 runs at an exceptional average of 57.32.

While having a conversation during the ICC Review, Dhawan chose his long standing partners, Kohli and Rohit, as his first two selections.

The left handed batter said,”The first (picked) is Virat of course. He is the best batter in the world and has been scoring runs like crazy. Rohit is a very experienced customer. He has scored lots of runs in ICC tournaments and bilateral (series) and he’s a proven player (on the big stage).”

While picking his next three players, he had his bet on Australian speedster Mitchell Starc, the Afghanistan leggie Rashid Khan and the South African pacer Kagiso Rabada among his top-5 players in the Dream World Cup XI.

“I’ll go for Mitchell Starc as he is one of the best fast bowlers (in the world). The fourth player will be Rashid Khan with his mystery action. I am sure he’ll be very, very impactful (in India) and will take lots of wickets,” said Dhawan.
