Shikhar Dhawan is in… But have full faith in Sam Curran as….”Sunil Joshi’s massive statement before Punjab’s clash against Mumbai Indians

Punjab Kings spin bowling coach Sunil Joshi gave a massive update regarding Shikhar Dhawan’s fitness, saying that the opener is currently in rehabilitation and will miss a few more matches.

However, Sunil Joshi backed Sam Curran to come out on top as the skipper of the side in Shikhar Dhawan’s absence.

Earlier, PBKS Coach Sanjay Bangar said that Shikhar Dhawan would be out of action for at least 7–10 days, with Sam Curran taking on the skipper duties for the team.

Ahead of Punjab’s clash with Mumbai Indians, Sunil Joshi said that the medical team is currently assessing the situation of Shikhar Dhawan.

Sunil Joshi said, “As far as an update on Shikhar Dhawan is concerned, the medical team will assess the situation and inform us. Now, he is in rehab. Sam Curran has been donning the captain’s hat for us in his absence. He was also the stand-in captain last year when Dhawan was injured, and he led the side well. So, we trust him completely.”

Joshi also feels that the bounce and pace of their Mullanpur team will help them gain an advantage over other teams.

Sunil Joshi said, “Bowlers win tournaments, batters win matches. Our bowling unit is doing consistently well in all areas. We have addressedthe fact that our top-order needs to bat well in the powerplay overs. But this is a challenging wicket for all batters, especially for the visitors, because the nature of bounce is completely different from all other surfaces. It gives us an advantage on this surface.”
