Shardul Thakur, who plays for Lucknow Super Giants, recently shared his thoughts on the high scores we’ve been seeing in the IPL 2025. Teams like Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders have been putting up big numbers, which can really take the bowlers out of the picture. Thakur pointed out that the pitch curators should create surfaces that help both bowlers and batsmen.
He said, “All we’re asking is for pitches that keep the game balanced. It shouldn’t just be about batters dominating us. We want a fair shot at it.”
He also mentioned that some bowlers might not speak out much or get opportunities to talk about pitch conditions in the media. Thakur joined LSG as a replacement for the injured Mohsin Khan and has made an impact, taking six wickets in his first two matches. He credited his success to good preparation, saying it’s all about knowing your game and adapting to the conditions and the situation.
As of now, Lucknow Super Giants have played two matches, winning one and losing another. They’re in third place and are looking forward to performing well in their next game.
