Shane Watson Wants This Indian To Regain His Form Before T20 World Cup 2024

Former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson has raised a huge concern for team India before the T20 World Cup 2024. Watson has urged Hardik Pandya to give his best performance during Mumbai Indians’ (MI) last home game of the season against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).

Watson’s call comes as a warning for Pandya to prepare rigorously for the upcoming T20 World Cup. MI will face LSG at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on May 17, Friday. This season has been disappointing for MI, as they are currently at the bottom of the IPL 2024 table with only 4 wins in 13 matches and 9 losses. They were also the first team to be eliminated from the playoff contention.

While having a conversation with Jio Cinema, Watson analysed that Mumbai Indians’ performance this season has not met their usual standards. He expressed a desire for MI to deliver an impressive performance for their fans, who are expected to show up in large numbers to support the team at the Wankhede Stadium. Watson emphasised the importance of ending the season on a high note despite the challenges.

They have got so much to play for. They have been very disappointing this season. With the calibre of players that they have got in their unit, in front of their home crowd, they would want to put up a big show for their home fans and me,” Watson said.

The former Australian cricketer advised Hardik Pandya to step up with the bat and demonstrate his all-round prowess against the Lucknow Super Giants, especially with the T20 World Cup approaching.

“I have got this feeling that Hardik Pandya has really got to step up in last game and really exert his dominance. The T20 World Cup is not too far away, and he really has to hit his straps, especially with the bat,” Watson said.
