In the T20 World Cup 2021, India did not have a great journey and the team failed to make it into the playoffs of the tournament. Since then India has gone through too many changes and now the upcoming world cup will see a different squad than the previous one.
Meanwhile, former Australian all-rounder, Shane Watson has picked his top-5 T20 Cricketers at present. Speaking during a special show of ICC, Watson came up with an interesting thought on Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav.
Former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson picked David Warner of Australia, Jos Buttler of England, Babar Azam of Pakistan, and Suryakumar Yadav of India as the top batters in T20 cricket. He ranked Suryakumar Yadav at no 2 on the list. Apart from these 4 batsmen, he kept Shaheen Shah Afridi as the only bowler among his top 5 picks.
While talking about Suryakumar Yadav in the ICC Review, Watson said, “He is batting incredibly well, and he would be my No.2 pick.”
Watson also revealed the reason behind choosing Babar Azam at no.1 in the list. He added, “First one I’d pick would be Babar Azam. He’s the No.1 T20I batsman in the world, and he just knows how to dominate. It’s like he’s not even taking any risks, and he scores incredibly quickly against the best bowlers in the world. He’s going to do very well in Australian conditions (during the T20 World Cup) as well, as his technique is very much built for Australian conditions.”
