The race for the top 2 teams in the ongoing World Test Championship is exciting. South Africa is looking to fix its place and the recently concluded 1st test against England came up with Africa’s strong evolution where they beat England by an inning and 12 runs at Lord’s.
South Africa is now leading the points table with the maximum points percentage(PCT) of 75. Now South Africa has only one away series which is against Australia and they are at the points table with 70 points.
In between all these competition, former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson has predicted 2 teams which would make into the finals of World Test Championship, 2023.
Naming his favourite finalists, Watson picked Australia and South Africa to be the prime teams which will play the final of this test saga.
Speaking on ICC Review, Watson said, “Right now, the way I see it, it’s going to be hard for South Africa and Australia to not make it.”
He further added,”They’re both playing really good cricket. Australia played good cricket apart from that last Test against Sri Lanka where they got swept upin turning conditions in the last innings.”
Apart from it Watson also talked about India and Pakistan. India and Pakistan are not going well in the points table of ICC Test Champions but Watson is hopeful that both these teams can mark a sensational comeback.
While speaking on the fortune of India and Pakistan, Watson said,”You can never discount India and Pakistan, because they’ve got so many match winners, outside of their home countries as well.”
