Shane Watson And Ajit Agarkar Drift Away From Delhi Capitals After IPL 2023, Here Is The Surprising Reason

A disappointing news is coming from the Delhi Capitals camp after the conclusion of 16th edition of Indian Premier League. The former Indian bowler Ajit Agarkar and the Australian veteran all-rounder who were the part of the coaching staff in DC have separated themselves from the franchisees.

The reason behind their separation is coming as both these players have got some coaching offers from anywhere else. Also, in this season the performance of DC has not been upto the mark and the failed in all the three departments.

The Capitals made an official announcement on their Twitter account regarding this development. They expressed gratitude towards Ajit Agarkar and Shane Watson for their valuable contributions and acknowledged that the franchise will always consider them part of their family.

The official Twitter handle of Delhi Capitals reads as – “You’ll always have a place to call home here 💙 Thank You, Ajit and Watto, for your contributions. All the very best for your future endeavours 🙌.”

Ajit Agarkar has an impressive international cricket record with 191 ODIs, 26 Tests, and four T20Is for India. According to reports, he is currently the leading candidate for the position of chairman of selectors for the Indian men’s team. This post has been vacant since Chetan Sharma resigned in February.

On the other hand, Shane Watson has recently hammered his first role as a head coach. He has been appointed by the San Francisco Unicorns, a franchise in Major League Cricket, to lead the coaching staff for the inaugural edition of the six-team tournament which will start on July 13th.
