On Tuesday, the former captain of Pakistan, Shahid Afridi took to his social media to share his sadness regarding the passing of his sister. The renowned all-rounder mentioned that his sister had been fighting for her life and she was hospitalized before her death.
Due to her worsening condition, Afridi altered his travel arrangements. Sadly, his sister passed away before the former cricketer could visit her in her time of illness.
Afridi used X(formerly known as Twitter) to inform his followers about his sister’s situation and provided information regarding her funeral, which will be held in Karachi, Pakistan.
“Surely we belong to Allah and to him we shall return. With Heavy hearts we inform you that our beloved Sister passed away and her Namaz e Janazah will be on 17.10.2023 after Zuhur prayer at Zakariya masjid main 26th street Khayaban e Ghalib DHA,” Afridi wrote on X.
The fans also supported Afridi during this hard time and offered condolences to the cricketer’s family.
Pakistan cricket team is currently performing well in the ongoing ODI World Cup. They won the first two matches but lost the second one against India by seven wickets. The match was played at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad where India outshined Pakistan in both the departments.
