Former all-time greatest all-rounder for Pakistan Shahid Afridi has raised his voice in support of his son-in-law, Shaheen Afridi, as speculations that Shaheen Afridi is going to be sacked as the 20th captain of Pakistan have surfed the internet.
Shahid Afridi said, “The biggest problem with our cricket is that our system changes whenever the faces change on the board. Whoever comes thinks whatever he is doing is the best for Pakistan cricket.”
Afridi believes that Shaheen Afridi should be given enough chances to prove himself.
Shahid Afridi said, “If you change the captain, then either the decision to appoint him was wrong or the decision to change him now is wrong.”
Afridi was one of the major reasons behind the appointment of Shaheen Afridi as the 20th captain of Pakistan when Babar Azam was sacked from the captaincy in all three formats.
Afridi also backed PCBs decision to go for a foreign coach for the betterment of Pakistan cricket.
Afridi said, “”I believe that even if you bring in a foreign coach, the staff under him should be Pakistani so that our people can also move forward and improve their skills.”
