Sehwag drops a massive statement on Dhoni’s Controversial dismissal

MS Dhoni’s return as captain of the Chennai Super Kings didn’t go well, as his team suffered a heavy loss to Kolkata Knight Riders in Chennai during IPL 2025. Sunil Narine’s impressive performance, with figures of 3-13 and scoring 44 runs, was crucial for KKR as they beat CSK by eight wickets. Narine’s quick-fire 44 came off just 18 balls, which helped KKR chase down a target of 104 with plenty of time to spare.

Dhoni’s dismissal sparked debate on social media. He came in to bat at No. 8 but only managed to score 1. During the 16th over, he got out lbw to a ball from Narine. The on-field umpire gave him out, but Dhoni challenged the call. Although the UltraEdge showed a minor spike when the ball went past the bat, the third umpire stuck with the original decision. Many fans weren’t happy with this call.

Virender Sehwag weighed in on the situation, saying he didn’t think it would have changed the outcome if Dhoni had been not out. He believed CSK’s maximum score might have been 130, and KKR would still have chased it down quickly.

After the match, Narine reflected on his performance, expressing a desire to improve even further. He feels it’s essential to focus on his strengths and adapt during the game to help his team get off to a good start.

Moeen Ali, who also bowled well with 1-20, praised the teamwork of the other bowlers and fielders in keeping CSK in check. He mentioned the importance of adjusting his bowling to the conditions during the power-play to keep the batters guessing.

KKR, now the defending champions, will have a break before facing Punjab Kings at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh on April 15.
