Former Indian cricketers Saurabh Tiwary and Shahbaz Nadeem have been chosen as the secretary and joint secretary of the Jharkhand State Cricket Association. Both players retired from international cricket in 2024. Tiwary, who is 35, played three ODIs for India, starting with a match against Australia in Visakhapatnam back in 2010. Nadeem, also 35, had two Test appearances for India, with his debut against South Africa in 2019.
In the recent elections for the new committee, Tiwary won against SB Singh with a score of 438 to 194. Nadeem also scored a solid victory, beating Raj Kumar Sharma 409 to 199 for the joint secretary role. For the position of president, Ajay Nath Shahdeo defeated SK Behra 421 to 213, while Sanjay Pandey took the vice-president role by beating Nandu Patel 381 to 235. Amitava Ghosh won the treasurer position, defeating Soumya Sen 402 to 221.
