The ODI World Cup is coming near and the former Indian batter and now a renowned commentator Aakash Chopra has given his view on the future of Sanju Samson. Chopra feels that if KL Rahul gets fully fit before the ODI World Cup he doesn’t see Sanju Samson making into the squad.
KL Rahul is in the process of recovering from thigh surgery and there hasn’t been any official information regarding his participation in the upcoming Asia Cup and then in the upcoming World Cup. During the recently concluded ODI series against the West Indies, Ishan Kishan played in all three matches, while Samson got the opportunity to leave his impact in two games only.
While having a conversation on his Youtube Channel, Aakash Chopra was asked whether Sanju Samson will get a chance for the ODI World Cup or will he end his career like Ambati Rayudu.
Aakash responded,”At this point in time, if KL Rahul becomes available, I don’t see him (Samson) in the World Cup team. I don’t think he will be seen in the Asia Cup team as well.”
The former KKR opener further stated that Sanju Samson’s place in team India for the World Cup depends on the fitness of KL Rahul.
Aakash Chopra explained,”At this point in time, if KL Rahul becomes available, I don’t see him (Samson) in the World Cup team. I don’t think he will be seen in the Asia Cup team as well.”
