“Sanju Samson Should Play…….” Wasim Jaffer Criticised Team Management Over Ignorance Of Sanju Samson

Two matches of the three-match ODI series between India and Australia have been completed, and currently, both teams are tied at 1-1. The Indian team won the first ODI by 5 wickets in Mumbai, and then Australia made a strong comeback for thrashing the hosts by 10 wickets in Visakhapatnam.

The biggest problem of the Indian team remains the middle order. Shreyas Iyer was out injured, and Suryakumar Yadav got a chance in his place. But the Mumbai batters were dismissed without opening an account in both the ODIs. Meanwhile, former Indian batsman Wasim Jaffer has given some important advice. Wasim Jaffer believes that Samson has recently proved himself in the opportunities he got in the ODI format and deserves his place in the team.

“We should probably express sympathy to Suryakumar Yadav that the first ball he faced was at a speed of 145 kmph. No doubt that it’s challenging when a left-arm seamer tries to bring the ball back in. Again, he should have anticipated that when Mitchell Starc bowls, he will attack the stumps and might swing. We have to see if the management sticks with him in the third ODI; otherwise, giving Sanju Samson a chance is not a bad option because he has played well when given the opportunity, and he is a good player,” Jaffer said to a media house.

Wasim Jaffer further explained the Indian team’s performance in the second ODI match against Australia. He also praised KL Rahul for his big role in the first ODI match, through which the Indian team won the clash when the top batting order of the Indians collapsed.

“The first ODI also saw a collapse, but KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja rescued India. But it wasn’t to be in this game. Except for the one that got KL Rahul, which was a difficult ball as it’s not easy to play a ball coming in so fast. Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma played poor shots. Suryakumar Yadav also got a good ball. Other than that, it was an ordinary batting performance. I wouldn’t say the pitch or bowling got those wickets. Virat Kohli got set and missed a straight delivery. Except for Rahul, no batter perished to special delivery. So, it’s a massive win for Australia,” Jaffer added.
