Indian cricketer Sanju Samson got out without scoring any runs in two straight matches against Sri Lanka on Tuesday, 30 July. During the third T20 match of the series, Samson hit a ball from Chamindu Wickramasinghe that was easy to catch, and it was caught at deep point in the third over of the game. Earlier, in the second T20 match of the series, Samson was bowled out by Maheesh Theekshana.
Samson, who made it into the T20 World Cup 2024 team, didn’t get to play in the ICC tournament. In a practice match against Bangladesh, Samson had trouble at the start and only scored 1 run off 6 balls on a tricky pitch in New York.
Samson didn’t play at all during the T20 World Cup and only got to play in the series against Zimbabwe that happened right after the big tournament. In that series, Samson scored 50 runs and was then included in the T20 team with Gautam Gambhir as his coach. Samson hoped to do well in the three-game series, but he didn’t score any runs in the second and third matches.
Samson hasn’t been chosen for the ODI team in the three-game series against Sri Lanka.
