Sanjay Manjrekar drops another Cryptic bombshell on Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli

The Cricket Association of Bengal has announced that the Duleep Trophy will be held from September 7 to 30, 2024. Since then, the burden on the players to remain available for match after match came at a heavy price and was a cause for concern.

The clamour in the media post the embarrassing defeat has been sky high. Only time will tell what proved to be the dying hours of the World Test Championship for Team India.

Within no time, all this had ended and the Indian team returned back home. Nonetheless, it is hardly surprising for him given how he is also being prepared for the World T20 slated for Australia in 2020.

It has been reported that this time around, the Duleep Trophy will have Rishabh, Rohit, Kohli, and Ashwin, R Jadeja, J Bumrah, and other regular Test players of India. However, it was not the case with the seniors who were composite to play Thomas Cup about to begin again.

During the home Test series against Bangladesh Haiya managed only 192 runs, while she managed a paltry 133 runs in the home Test series against New Zealand.

Talking about the same the , retired Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar said that it is imperative that the “well rested” players refrain from gorging themselves on cricket and participate in domestic tournaments instead.

“The big learning for the selectors from this home season is that do not rest the already well rested players because of their stature. I say this again, both Rohit & Virat would only have benefited from playing the Duleep Trophy start of the season,” Manjrekar wrote on X.

India scored a 2-0 victory over Bangladesh in a two-match series, and they suffered a 0-3 series defeat by New Zealand during the same period. Next, the squad is set to depart for Australia in preparation for a five-match Test series where the first match highlights on November 22 in Perth.
