Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar recently made a bold statement online after Rohit Sharma announced his retirement from Test cricket. Manjrekar shared his thoughts on X, previously known as Twitter, about Rohit’s performance as an opener for India over the last six years. While Rohit still plays ODI cricket, his recent form in Test matches hasn’t been great. Manjrekar suggested that Rohit’s time as a Test opener has come to an end. Rohit took on the role of opener in Test cricket back in October 2019 and held that position until now.
In addition to his cricketing career, Rohit, who captains the ODI team, has shown support for the armed forces, especially during rising tensions with Pakistan. Following an attempted aerial attack by Pakistan on Jammu and nearby military spots, India’s defense successfully countered the threats. Many athletes, including Rohit, took to social media to pay tribute to the Indian armed forces for their efforts in protecting the nation.
