‘Samson was dropped despite playing well because we don’t have enough…’, Wasim Jaffer Posed Some Harsh Blames On BCCI

The former Indian cricketers are once again raising fingers on the Indian selection panel as Sanju Samson who played a decent knock of 36 runs in the 1st ODI has been dropped from the second game at Hamilton. However, the second game between the two teams has been officially abandoned due to rain and the hosts are leading the series 1-0.

Former Indian opener Wasim Jaffer blamed BCCI and Indian cricket management for the continuous ignorance of Samson from the team even after giving some amazing performances. For the second ODI, Sanju Samson was replaced by Deepak Hooda, and this left fans in surprise. However, Jaffer felt that it was a case of misfortune as India did not have enough all-around options. He also claimed that there are very few batters in the Indian playing XI who can bowl.

While sharing his thought on Twitter, “Sanju was dropped despite playing well cos we don’t have enough all rounders and part time options. My two cents on why there’s a dearth of all rounders and part-timers. #NZvIND #SanjuSamson.”

He further explained,”“Lack of all rounders: We don’t manage all rounders well. Because there aren’t many around we’re quick to play them at the highest level, but then after few bad outings they’re out as quickly as they got in. Vijay Shankar, Venky lyer, Shivam Dube, and Krunal Pandya few examples. Need to show patience while they develop. Lack of part time bowling options: With bowling machines and throw down specialists around, batters have stopped bowling in the nets.”

Talking about the second ODI, the match was adjusted to 29 overs per team and India was batting first. Rain again interrupted the match when India was standing at 89/1 in 12.5 overs and then it was decided to dump the match.
