Sairaj Bahutule, ex-cricketer of India, is gearing up to join Rajasthan Royals as a spin bowling coach this year around the IPL. With the former RR stint from 2018-21, Bahutule has left his post in Bengaluru at the National Cricket Academy now dubbed Centre of Excellence. He will work with bowling coach Shane Bond of New Zealand and head coach Rahul Dravid. He has also worked with Dravid while he used to coach the Indian team.
“Currently, I have some ongoing discussions which are close to finalizing my association with the franchisee. A few last-minute details are left, but I am very excited about realigning with the Royals,” Bahutule told Cricbuzz.
“And I am really excited about reuniting with Rahul, who was the person who introduced me to the Indian team during the last Border-Gavaskar Trophy series in 2023, which I was part of as the spin bowling coach. I also worked under him on his coaching staff in Sri Lanka, which makes me really look forward to it.” The 52-year-old has Test caps for two Tests and 8 ODIs for India.
