Sai Sudarshan achieves this elusive milestone in IPL

In the match against Rajasthan Royals on Wednesday, Gujarat Titans opener Sai Sudharsan had a standout performance, scoring 82 runs off 53 balls. This effort made him the second-highest scorer in IPL history after 30 innings, with a total of 1,307 runs, just behind Shaun Marsh’s 1,338. He hit eight fours and three sixes, helping GT set a solid target of 217/6 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Sudharsan is also the only Indian player to score five consecutive 50+ scores at a single venue. He recently had an unbeaten 84 and a century in the last two matches at this ground. Talking about his innings, he mentioned that the pitch was tricky at first but became good for batting. He said, The surface was swinging a bit at the start, but it got better.

Sai credited his team’s strategy for the innings, saying they felt they could have scored more but were still happy with the total. When asked about being consistent, he downplayed it, saying he just reacts to the game situation. He also shared his thoughts on the challenge from Jofra Archer, noting that Archer had some good deliveries but overall, the slower balls worked well on the pitch.

With the dew not expected to affect the game, Sai pointed out that the Rajasthan Royals have a tough job ahead of them. Chasing 218 in Ahmedabad will be a challenge, and GT is counting on their bowlers to finish the job after such a strong batting display.
