‘Sachin, Hayden, Gilchrist Failed But MS Dhoni…’, Navjot Singh Sidhu Marks MS Dhoni As The Best Cricketer For This Reason

At the age of 42, the former Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni seems to be in great form. He’s been playing some quick innings for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2024, running between the wickets swiftly and hitting the ball powerfully. He has also been exceptional as a wicketkeeper in the ongoing 17th season of IPL 2024.

As cricketers get older, they usually become slower and less flexible, but Dhoni continues to exceed these expectations. In the recent match against Lucknow Super Giants, he scored 28 runs off 9 balls without getting out, hitting 3 fours and 2 sixes. His running between the wickets reminded people of his younger days. Even Ravindra Jadeja, known for his remarkable energy, couldn’t match Dhoni’s speed. Despite his knee issues, Dhoni didn’t show any signs of discomfort.

Former Indian cricketer and one of the renowned commentators, Navjot Singh Sidhu praised the fitness level of Chennai Super Kings star.

While having a conversation on Star Sports, Sidhu said, “When Sachin Tendulkar, Matthew Hayden, and Adam Gilchrist retired from international cricket, they played in the Indian Premier League. They tried but failed to carry on as matching the levels of the tournament was not possible for them. And now look at MS Dhoni. He is 42, but there is no sign of slowing down. This shows why he is the fittest, even at this age.”

“He was sensational with the bat against LSG. Other batters of CSK couldn’t hit the ball. Ravindra Jadeja was at the crease for most of the game, but he couldn’t time the ball. But the moment Dhoni arrived, it looked like the track was batting paradise. He made batting look so easy.”
