Rohit Sharma is having an average season with the bat. The star batter has so far scored 326 runs in 11 matches at a strike rate of 154.5.
In his interaction with Star Sports, Deep Das Gupta said, “You are playing for the pride of the team; you are playing as a professional cricketer; and you are playing for your pride as well. You don’t want to play a game and not perform. Every time you cross the line, you want to do your best.”
Deep Das Gupta further added, “Let’s not forget that next year is the big auction. This is the last few opportunities that all professional cricketers have. Even if the team is not going to qualify, at least put up a good show and tell everyone, ‘You know what? I am there’.”
Deep Das Gupta feels that Rohit Sharma needs to come up well with the bat as the T-20 World Cup is just around the corner and he is such an important member of the team.
