Rohit Sharma to lead India in England test?? Reports make a huge claim

After India’s outstanding Champions Trophy 2025 win, Rohit Sharma would probably keep captaincy for the next Test series versus England. Rohit&’s leadership enabled the team to win all the games in the competition and seal the championship with a win in the final over New Zealand. After a horrible Test series against Australia in which he managed just 31 runs in 3 games, Rohit’s future as captain was doubted. Still, Indian Express reports that the Champions Trophy victory has extended Rohit’s career and he now has BCCI support with captaincy.

He has let his abilities be shown themselves. Every interested party believes he is the ideal candidate to head the Indian side for the England tour. Rohit also has shown keenness to keep playing red-ball cricket,” a source told the Indian Express.

On the official ICC website, Ricky Ponting also claimed that while Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli’s expertise formed the foundation of India’s ICC Champions Trophy 2025 victory, their all-round players offered outstanding support.

As per the official ICC website, ICC Review quoting from, Ponting said, “Their all-rounders right through the tournament were outstanding.”

” Brilliant were Ravindra) Jadeja, Axar Patel, Hardik Pandya. “At the beginning of the competition I remarked that India, owing to their general balance and that combination of youth and experience, would be really difficult to beat, and once more, in a final, the captain rises up and gets the job done for his team,” said Ponting.

India showed amazing batting depth at the last completed Champions Trophy with three all-rounders beginning in all five of their matches, therefore offering several bowling options.

Recalling their contributions, Ponting stated, &aquot;they were a very well balanced team in any event, but with so many allrounders they used up the order for that left-handed option on several occasions, therefore when you’ve got Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, and with Jadeja there too, they were a really well balanced team.

He added: “The only thing you would probably say, they probably looked a little bit light on fast bowling, but as it turned out, they didn&’t need that.

He noted: “Hardik Pandya&’s ability to bowl with a new ball and get through some overs early to make it a little bit easier for the spinners in the backend of their Powerplay and also through the middle overs where they predominantly bowl and spin pretty much right through the middle of the game is particularly of need.”
