During this, he has surpassed the former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Dhoni has 78 sixes in his red-ball career while playing for India, while Rohit Sharma has now reached the tally of 79 sixes.
Rohit Sharma surpassed this milestone by hitting his second six of the innings, surpassing Dhoni’s record of 78 sixes in Test cricket. The former Indian opening batsman, Virender Sehwag, holds the record for the highest number of sixes in Tests by an Indian, with a total of 91 hits.
Rohit Sharma holds the distinction of being the most prolific six-hitter in international cricket, amassing a total of 590 sixes across Tests, ODIs, and T20Is. He leads the charts for sixes in T20Is, having hit 190 sixes in 143 innings, and secures the third position in one-day cricket with 323 biggies in 254 innings.
