Rohit Sharma And Virat Kohli To Make W Comeback In T20 Squad? BCCI To Hold Meeting On The Future Of These Two Legends

As the T20 series against Afghanistan approaches, the selection committee led by Ajit Agarkar is grappling with challenging choices, especially regarding whether to include experienced players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in the squad or not.

These veteran players haven’t participated in India’s T20 format since the World Cup semi final against England in November 2022. This has made the selection a bit complex for the BCCI.

The selection committee which includes Shiv Sunder Das and Salil Ankola, currently in South Africa, is set to consult with head coach Rahul Dravid, Test and ODI captain Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli before settling on the squad for the Afghanistan series.

The excitement is evident, as approximately 30 T20 specialists, including IPL emerging players , are being closely monitored in anticipation of the upcoming ICC event in the Caribbean and the United States.

The choice of whether to include Rohit and Kohli in the series beginning on January 11 in Mohali or assess their form and fitness during the IPL remains undecided. Both of these cricket legends have conveyed their eagerness to participate in the T20 World Cup.

Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya aren’t fit. The Afghanistan series won’t tell you anything. Everything will be decided on the basis of the first month of IPL,” A senior BCCI source said as quoted by NDTV.
