Rohit Sharma and company arrives at Cuttack for the second ODI against England

The Indian cricket team is reaching a hotel at Bhubaneswar on Friday for the second ODI which is being played against England. The Men in Blue will come up against England in the second match of the ODI series on Sunday in Cuttack. Talisman batter Virat Kohli, vice-captain Shubman Gill, head coach Gautam Gambhir, and other team members received gratitude from a high-decibel welcome at the hotel. Apart from the Men in Blue, England also received a warm welcome at the same hotel in Bhubaneswar. Even Brydon Carse and Harry Brook were among the gang.

Earlier in the first match of the ODI series Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer’s mouthwatering fifties helped India clinch a four-wicket win over England at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur.

With this victory at Nagpur, team India had taken a lead of 1-0 over England in the ODI series.

As per the facts with respect to the first ODI match, it was won by England after its toss and chose to bat first. Openers Phil Salt (43 runs from 26 balls, five fours, and three sixes) and Ben Duckett (32 runs from 29 balls, hitting six fours) gave England a good starting foundation for its first innings with a contained aggressive opening partnership worth 75.

Then, England found themselves at 111/4, with Joe Root already retired after scoring just 19 runs of 31 balls with the help of a single boundary, when Captain Jos Buttler (52 runs from 67 balls along with four boundaries) and Jacob Bethell teamed up for a 59-run partnership. Bethell made it to his 51 runs off 64 balls, including three fours and a six, before going out after the fall of Buttler. Jofra Archer (21* in 18 balls, with three fours and a six) gave England a total score of 248 in 47.4 overs.

Ravindra Jadeja (3/26) and Harshit Rana (3/53) were the prime wickets takers for India. Axar Patel, Mohammed Shami, and Kuldeep Yadav all took one wicket each.

In the run-chase, Shubman Gill (87 runs off 96 balls: 14 fours), Shreyas Iyer (59 runs off 36 balls), and Axar Patel (52 runs off 47 balls, including 6 fours and 1 six) took Men in Blue over the finish line by scoring a stupendous knock to win the game by four wickets against England.

Saqib Mahmood and Adil Rashid together formed the top bowling attack for England, taking two wickets each in their spells.
