Rohit Sharma achieves another monumental feat against Srilanka in the second Odi.

Indian team leader Rohit Sharma made history once more by becoming the first Indian and the second player ever to hit 300 sixes in One-Day Internationals (ODIs). Rohit reached this impressive milestone during India’s 32-run loss to Sri Lanka in the second ODI in Colombo on Sunday. His fast-paced 64 runs from only 44 balls featured four high sixes and five stylish fours. Even though his team lost, his personal achievement was a highlight of the game. This performance increased his total number of sixes as a starting player to 302 from 177 matches, making him the second starting player in ODI history to surpass the 300-sixes mark. He is behind only the famous Chris Gayle, who has hit 328 sixes in 280 games.

Sanath Jayasuriya, who is now the coach for Sri Lanka and used to be a very aggressive opening batsman, is third on the list for hitting the most sixes in one-day international cricket (ODIs) with 263 sixes in 388 matches. Rohit Sharma’s performance as an opening batsman has been amazing. He has scored 8,801 runs in 177 matches, including 29 hundreds and 55 scores of fifty or more, with an impressive average of 55. These numbers show how consistently he performs and how strong he is at the beginning of the batting lineup.

Looking at the total number of sixes hit in ODIs, Rohit is in third place with 330 sixes in 264 matches. He is behind only Shahid Afridi from Pakistan, who leads the list with 351 sixes in 398 games, and Chris Gayle, who has one more six with 331 sixes in 301 matches. Rohit also holds the record for hitting the most sixes by an Indian player in ODIs, beating other famous players like Mahendra Singh Dhoni (229 sixes in 297 matches) and Sachin Tendulkar (195 sixes in 463 games).

Additionally, in all three types of international cricket matches—Test matches, One Day Internationals, and Twenty20 Internationals—Rohit Sharma holds the record for hitting the most sixes. He has hit an impressive 619 sixes in 482 games. This remarkable achievement highlights his skill in hitting the ball out of the park and his reputation as one of the most powerful batters in today’s cricket.
