The team in purple and gold Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have started their preparation for the upcoming IPL season. The key batters for KKR, Rinku Singh, Phill Salt, and Andre Russell, seem to have gotten into groove ahead of the upcoming IPL season.
All three batters performed exceptionally well in the practice match, which was scheduled before the season. The teams were divided into two groups: team gold and team purple.
All three batters were playing for Team Gold, which batted first. Batting first, Gold scored 237 runs, with Phill Salt scoring 78 of just 41 deliveries, followed by Nitish Rana, who scored 50 in the end, and Rinku Singh. Scored a powerful 37 on just 16 deliveries.
In the response, Team Purple also showed a great fightback, scoring 232 in their 20 overs, falling short just by five runs. A few players from the Bengal Cricket Association also got chances to showcase their skills in batting and bowling.
KKR will be keen to see how their most expensive pick, Mitchell Starc, bowls in the nets as the tall pacer has joined the squad ahead of the IPL.
KKR are all set to start their campaign against Sunrisers Hyderabad on March 23 in Eden Gardens.
