“Rishabh Pant will be ready for…” Kevin Peterson’s huge statement on Delhi’s Skipper Rishabh pant after his Heroics behind the wicket

Former England star Kevin Peterson believes that Rishabh Pant will be ready to play for India in the upcoming T-20 World Cup. However, Peterson believes that to do so, Pant needs game time on a continuous basis throughout the IPL.

In Delhi’s last clash against GT Rishabh Pant was awarded the Player of the Match award for his brilliant performance behind the wicket, helping his side bundle GT for just 89 runs.

DC’s bowlers dominated from the start of the match. This helped Delhi bowl the Gujarat Titans for just 89 runs, which is the lowest score of this season so far.

Rishabh Pant too had a phenomenal day behind the wicket as he took a brilliant catch to dismiss GT’s David Miller, which was followed by two back-to-back stumpings by Abhinav Manohar and Shahrukh Khan.

In his interaction with Star Sports, Kevin Peterson was all praise for Rishabh Pant. Peterson said, “He’s (Pant) doing a pretty good job… I thought his mobility tonight was something that gave him great encouragement. That will give Team India great encouragement. He needs game time. Of course, everybody needs game time when they’re coming back from an injury. He’s coming back from a horrific injury, so game time is what he needs to get himself into a T20 World Cup and to have played 14, 15, 16, and 17 games. It’s a big thing leading into a T20 World Cup, so if he does go and they (DC) play that much cricket, he will be so ready.”

In their chase of 90 runs, Delhi got off to a flyer, with Jake Fraser-Mcgurk scoring 20 of just 10 deliveries, followed by some useful cameos from Abhishek Porel and Shai Hope. In the end, Sumit Kumar and Rishabh Pant sealed the deal for Delhi.
