The mini-auction of the IPL 2024 is all set to happen on December 19 in Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena. This is the first time the auction of this cash-rich league is happening outside India. Meanwhile, it has been known that some major changes could take place in the Delhi Capitals Franchise.
Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant met with an accident last year and he missed major tournaments which include IPL 2023, ICC Champions Trophy Final, Asia Cup, and the 2023 ODI World Cup. In the absence of Pant, Australia’s veteran David Warner had the captaincy role for the Delhi team. Now it has been known that Rishabh Pant has almost recovered from the injury and he is planning to join the auction, not among the participants but he will be sitting with the franchise’s officials.
If Rishabh Pant is present in the auction, it is certain that the team will be picked under his supervision for Delhi this time. Several major changes may take place within the team. The team still has 9 slots remaining for auction, among which four could be allocated to foreign players. For the IPL auction 2024, the team has a balance of 28.95 crore rupees in their purse.
The talking is also going on Rishabh Pant’s return and his role in the upcoming IPL 2024. Some reports earlier suggested that he would indeed make a comeback in IPL 2024. However, the debate revolved around whether he would stay with the team as an impact player. There were also reports that he might captain the Delhi Capitals but might not play as a wicketkeeper in the upcoming tournament.
