Rishabh Pant was one of the biggest misses in the Delhi Capitals campaign last season. However, with his return, the Delhi Capitals are looking settled as a unit in this year’s IPL season. Delhi Capitals coach James Hopes feels that Pant’s return to the side has acted as a boost for the team. Rishabh Pant had been phenomenal in Delhi’s last match against the Gujarat Titans in terms of his wicketkeeping and captaincy skills.
Talking about Rishabh Pant, James Hopes said, “Pant’s keeping; it’s pretty good. Ain’t it? Last year, we tried really hard to cover that gap. But it’s very hard to cover a world-class keeper, if not the best wicketkeeper-batter in the world. Now that he is back, you can just see everything about his game: his keeping is improving, his captaincy is becoming very sharp, and his batting has been pretty good from the start of the tournament.”
Hope further added, “He is rounding into some pretty good form for the back half of the tournament. And he is leading pretty well at the moment.”
The Delhi Capitals are going to play on their home ground in the upcoming matches. They are set to welcome Sunrisers Hyderabad into their home.
Speaking about Delhi’s preparation and clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad, James Hope said,
We are halfway through now. We said, leading into the game, that a win tonight would put us on the table. And we also had a good week-and-half for us, with three home games in Delhi. We are running into the freight train for the next game, which is SRH. We are already preparing for that. If we have a good week-and-a-half, then we are going to be right around that top 4.”
