Rishabh Pant drops a massive verdict regarding the Lord’s pitch

CRIC Informer

Before the third Test between India and England, the pitch at Lord’s is a hot topic. The first two Tests had pitches that favored batting, leading to high scores for both sides. The photos of the Lord’s pitch, which appeared greener than the previous ones, sparked discussion among fans. Reports suggested that England might prepare a pitch that helps fast bowlers, a change from their original strategy.

Rishabh Pant, the Indian team’s vice-captain, stated that the team is not focused on the pitch but on their own performance.

Pant said, As a team, we intend to play based on the conditions we face. We don’t want to worry about the opposition’s plans. Whatever they do, we will focus on doing our best. It’s that simple.

He included, The expectation was that England would provide good batting wickets, given their style of play. Our goal was to take 20 wickets on these pitches. That was our plan. Our batters need to perform because we are missing two senior players. This is a chance for others to step up, and they are starting to do so. We believe we can improve as a team.

Pant discussed what sets Jasprit Bumrah apart before the third test at Lord’s.

Bumrah is expected to replace Prasidh Krishna in the Indian lineup for the third Test of the five-match series against England, which begins on July 10.

In a pre-match press conference, Pant mentioned, I believe everything makes Bumrah special. His precision, his mindset, he is amazing. I think it’s harder for the wicket-keeper than the batsman, especially in England, because of the movement he generates.
