Rinku Singh revealed words of encouragement that he received from Rohit Sharma after the World Cup snub

One of the most bright prospects and one of the most consistent performers for team India in the T 20 format, Rinku Singh has made a name for himself as one of the most dynamic batters in the international Circuit.

However inspite of several memorable performances in the international stage the young Southpaw failed to find his place in team India’s T 20 World Cup squad which in the end won the championship in Barbados. Just before the World Cup Rinku singh won the IPL playing for KKR but could not find his place in team India’s squad but was included as traveling reserve.

However months after team India’s victory Rinku has now revealed the words of encouragement that he received from Indian skipper Rohit Sharma after he was dropped from the squad.

Rinku said, “Rohit Sharma told me it’s alright because I’m still young and there will be many more tournaments in the future. Since there’s a World Cup every two years, I shouldn’t feel bad about this but instead concentrate on my game,” Rinku mentioned in an interview with News24.

However right after the World Cup Rinku Singh was picked for Zimbabwe and srilanka series where he once again proved his worth this time with both bat and ball. Rinku Singh has so far played 17 T 20 matches for India in which he has a strike rate of over 160 and average of 60.

Rinku Singh also lavished out praise for Virat Kohli for his leadership skills.

Speaking of the same Rinku said, “I also enjoy watching Virat Kohli play because being aggressive is crucial when you’re in charge of a team. His leadership skills are really impressive,” he mentioned. Rinku recently shared that he hopes to join Virat Kohli’s team, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), if he doesn’t stay with the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

Rinku is now participating in the Uttar Pradesh T20 League (UP T20), where he leads the Meerut Mavericks. He hasn’t been selected for any of the four teams competing in the Duleep Trophy in September.
