Revealed: Intelligence Reports on ‘Terror Threat’ to T20 World Cup 2024

It’s just a matter of time that the biggest event of cricket the ICC t 20 world cup will take the center stage in cricket. However just before the start of the tournament news has come which will be not so pleasing for cricket fans around the world.

A buzz has been created that Cricket West Indies have received a terror threat from North Pakistan regarding the T 20 world Cup event scheduled. This news has taken West Indies cricket board to come in action and issue additional security to counter the threat.

In his interaction with Cricbuzz Johnny Graves said, “We work closely with authorities in the host countries and cities and continually monitor and evaluate the global landscape to ensure appropriate plans are in place to mitigate any risks identified to our event.”

The reports further add that the threat has come from the pro Islamic state which says, “”Pro-Islamic State (IS) media sources have launched campaigns inciting violence against sporting events, which included video messages from the Afghanistan-Pakistan branch, ISKhorasan (IS-K) which highlighted assaults in numerous countries and urged supporters to join the battlefield in their countries.”

However Cricket West Indies is confident of hosting the mega event with safety keeping the safety of players and teams in their topmost priority.

Johnny Greaves said, “We want to assure all stakeholders that safety and security of everyone at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is our number one priority and we have a comprehensive and robust security plan in place.”

The T 20 world cup is set to begin in the USA and West Indies from June 1 with the final being set to be played on June 29 in Barbados.
