The reports claim that the new chief selector for Indian cricket team, Ajir Agarkar travelled to Sri Lanka and had a conversation with head coach Rahul Dravid and skipper Rohit Sharma for finalising the players. Sanju Samson has failed to make his place while KL Rahul has bagged the spot in the squad.

The selection committee also talked about the fitness issues of the wicket-keeper batter KL Rahul. The player will very soon fly to Sri Lanka to participate in the tournament. Earlier, a controversy arose when Rahul got into the Asia Cup squad but missed the first two matches for India.
