Record Alert: Yashasvi Jaiswal Got Several Milestones, Surpasses Ganguly, Rohit And Raina With His Records

After the stumps of Day 2 between the first Test of India and West Indies, India is going with a lead of 162 runs. Debutante Yashasvi Jaiswal and captain Rohit Sharma got splendid tons and stitched a patternship of 229 runs.

Skipper Rohit Sharma, went to Pavilion after scoring 103 runs. On the other hand, Jaiswal is still there at the crease and playing on 143 runs with the help of 14 fours. During this Jaiswal made some serious records.

Jaiswal now holds the record for scoring most runs by an Indian on his debut. In his innings of 143 runs, now Jaiswal has faced 326 balls so far. Previously, former Indian captain Mohammed Azharuddin had faced 322 balls against England in 1984. After him Sourav Ganguly and Rohit Sharma hold the place with 301 balls each. Ganguly achieved this feat against England in 1996 while Sharma who made his debut in 2013 against West Indies faced 301 balls.

So far Jaiswal has already made the highest score by any Indian outside home on his Test debut. Jaiswal has 132 runs. Before him, Ganguly made his Test debut against England and scored 131 runs. Former Indian batter Surinder Amarnath got 124 runs on his Test debut in 1976 against New Zealand. Number four on this list is Suresh Raina who scored 120 runs against Sri Lanka in 2010.

Till the stump of Day 2, India has got 312 runs at the loss of two wickets. Apart from Jaiswal (143*), star Indian batter Virat Kohli is playing at 36 runs.
