In the 56th match of Indian Premier League being played between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders, the young RR openen Yashasvi Jaiswal created history on Thursday by smashing a sensational fifty at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. During his blistering knock, Jaiswal completed his fastest fifty in just 13 deliveries.

Before this, the record for the fastest century was held by KL Rahul and Chris Gayle. Rahul had scored a half-century in 14 deliveries against Delhi Capitals, while Gayle achieved the feat against Mumbai Indians in the same 14 number of deliveries.

During this sensational inning, Jaiswal hit 26 runs in the first over of the innings bowled by Nitish Rana. With this, he jointly holds the second position in the list of most runs scored in the first over of an IPL innings.

In this match, while batting first KKR hung 149 runs on the board at the loss of eight wickets. For KKR, Venkatesh Iyer scored the maximum 57 runs.
